This project presented two evolving displays in response to the exhibition You cannot step twice into the same river.
Over the course of the exhibition, visitors were invited to explore the displays and leaf through selected literature. Reading material selected by Pump House Gallery offered insights into Postmodern enquiries surrounding authorship and language, in addition to other fictions, essays and philosophical texts. In a vitrine, Pump House Gallery presented its responses to this reading material, thereby providing space to dissect items and articulate their findings.
This display was complemented by artwork by Pencil & Help, a collaborative art practice led by artists Mark Long and Mark Oliver. On display were their initial responses to the exhibition in anticipation of their following work as part of the Pump House Gallery’s Schools Programme. Personal reflections on the Panopticon and key themes in the exhibition could be found alongside a display of past publications that offered an insight of their artistic practice.
Drop-in workshop for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
