Collaboration and participation is at the heart of the Pump House Gallery programme, with exhibitions supported by workshops, projects and events at the gallery and beyond that welcome everyone to explore the different ways art can be made and experienced.
Pump House Gallery is managed by Enable Leisure & Culture on behalf of Wandsworth Council.
Alongside each exhibition, Pump House Gallery invites an artist to present a participatory project that encourages gallery audiences to contribute their thoughts. Based in the Project Space, each project identifies key exhibition themes to explore using hands-on making activities. InHouse projects are further enhanced by our fortnightly family workshops, running every other Sunday. Led by an artist, they introduce new techniques and materials to present fun, thought-provoking and creative ways for young audiences to explore the exhibition.
The InHouse project programme is a development of the Reading Project, for which artists and designers were commissioned to present a changing display and set of activities alongside each exhibition in the Project Space.
OutHouse refers to the programme of off-site activities and workshops Pump House Gallery delivers across the borough of Wandsworth. In this programme, the gallery works with artists and local communities to find ways to explore, capture and animate the local surroundings. Offering a range of artistic techniques and experiences, projects work with diverse audiences and culminate in high quality outcomes created with and by participants.
